On Thursday the 7th of October 2010, the third edition of Offshore Energy will take place at the Old Navy Yard Willemsoord in Den Helder, The Netherlands. The exhibition, which focuses on the international offshore energy industry, is the only event in The Netherlands which combines an extensive exhibition with a conference program on the latest developments and latest markets in offshore.

Printing feature added to Viking Process

A complete and easy to use printing feature has been added to the Viking Process software. It is now possible to directly print any data type using an easy to use print preview screen.

A scale factor, custom grid ticks and drawing information can be added and adjusted on the fly using the left hand sidebar.

 

Renewed Ceeducer Pro Echo Sounder

The hydrographic all-in-one echo sounder Ceeducer Pro has been upgraded with a number of DGPS and RTK solutions. The new Ceeducer Pro also features a renewed battery technology and a highly improved internal DGPS receiver from Hemisphere GPS.

In addition to the built-in DGPS it is also possible to integrate an RTK GPS receiver and to receive and process the Omnistar GPS correction signal.

Also, as of 2010 all Ceeducer Pro units will be supplied with a rugged and waterproof Peli Case for transportation of the Ceeducer unit and the GPS antenna.

 

Renewed Viking Dredge software released!

All new Viking Dredge software officially released! Viking Dredge is specifically designed for use on a wide range of dredging vessels, ranging from a small cutter dredger to a large seagoing hopper dredger.

With Viking Navigation as a rock solid base Viking Dredge makes use of the same ease of use and extended navigation functions. Besides the existing Navionics and Autocad DXF support, Viking is expanded with support for 3D DTM, XYZ matrix, and XYZ ASCII data. With direct support for a wide variety of sensors such as angle sensors, depth gauges and pressure sensors, Viking Dredge can visualize and register the entire dredging process.

Besides the use on dredging vessels, Viking Dredge can also be deployed on grab dredgers and hydraulic excavators. Using an RTK GPS, inclinometers and an optional wire-length measurement Viking Dredge can work on earth moving machines with centimetre precision according to a 3D terrain model.

With the arrival of Viking Dredge, the Viking software is significantly expanded. The lightweight Target version, the Navigation version for advanced positioning, and the all new Viking Dredge enables Viking to be deployed on a diverse number of ships, dredging vessels and earthmoving machines.

Renewed Viking Dredge installed on first dredger!

August 31, 2009

The Dutch dredging vessel 'Pelsert' is the first vessel to receive the renewed Viking Dredge software.

The Pelsert already used our STPM (Suction Tube Positioning Monitoring) software along with an array of pressure and angle transmitters.

Viking Dredge and STPM are now connected to each other using a high speed ethernet data link, sharing DTM and dredging data in real-time.

 

Offshore Energy 09 Trade Fair

Viking Dredge Trials

After the release of the new Viking Navigation software, work immediately started on the new Dredging version. Together with the dredging company Schilder BV this new version is being tested on a local dredging project in the 'Waardkanaal'.

Viking Dredge can be connected to sensors on the suction tube to calculate and measure the exact dredging depth. This data combined with an accurate DGPS receiver and GPS compass results in full 3D data of the dredger and the suction tube.

Together with two different Dynamic Terrain Model's, the first based on survey data and the second based on a theoretical model, a top and side view is shown.

The data of the suction tube is combined in real-time with the DTM data to give the dredge master a full overview of the dredging process.

 

New Viking Navigation software products released!

After many long years of development and testing, we have finalized the first production ready version of the new Viking software products!

The new Viking Navigation products come in two versions: The first being a lightweight version featuring all necessary functions called Viking Target. Where the second is the fully featured Viking Navigation edition supporting many special features and advanced navigation options.

Modules Support
New in the new Viking software is also support for special modules, the first module produced and tested is the anchoring module. This module is mainly used on offshore and dredging vessels who need to plan ahead complex anchoring plans.

Completion of large North Sea Survey project

November 6, 2008

Over the course of May til November 2008, we have carried out an extensive hydrographic survey along the dutch coast.

This survey involved the depth measurement and recording of the coastal areas from Petten, Den Helder and the island of Texel. The survey was carried out using our Viking and DTM2000 software, Ceeducer Pro and a Magellan Aquarius RTK/LRK unit.

 

New Colleague for new Processing Software

September 12, 2008

For the development of a completely new program for both pre- and post processing of numerous types of data. A new programmer called Bas Koppe had joined CT Systems.

The new program to be called 'Viking Process' will be a new application which will act as a support application to the new Viking Navigation programs.

Many functions will be included such as Viking Log data analysis, XYZ Import and editing, advanced interpolation routines, matrix generation tools, PDF dredging rapport generation, and many more...

 

Javad GNSS Dealership

On Juny 26th 2008 CT Systems has been officially awarded the Javad GNSS dealership for The Netherlands. The dealership includes the sale and full support of the new Javad GNSS product range.

The new Javad GNSS product range is based on the revolutionary Triumph chipset. This new chipset has the ability to receive 216 channels simultaneously! And can produce an ouput rate of up to 100 hertz.

 

Beta testing of new Viking Software

After many years of development the first testing fase of the new Viking Navigation software package has commenced. The goal of the first 'real world' tests is to work out any potential problems and to receive user feedback.

Viking system used for Mighty Servant 3 salvage

June 11, 2007

During the salvage operation of the Mighty Servant 3, our Viking Offshore Survey software, which is permanently installed on the Smit Orca, was used for the positioning of both the Taklift 7 as the Smit Orca.

 

Second Nigerian dredger equipped

May 20, 2007

After having installed our complete product array on the LCMs (Lagos Channel Management) dredger the 'Sea Lion', we also equipped LCMs second vessel the 'Gumel'.

The installation consisted of our Viking Survey software, TDS, STPM, '2X' production monitoring, Magellan 3011 GPS compass, and an extensive sensor array for load calculation, suction tube positioning and draft.

 

Algerian survey contract expanded

January 28, 2007

In addition to the surveying of the Algerian reservoirs our governmental contract has been expanded to include the surveying of a number of international Algerian ports.

As with the reservoir surveys we used Magellan LRK equipment in combination with the Bruttour Ceeducer Pro.
